| This website is not about creating bitterness. It's about opening our eyes to the world around us, and thinking in dynamic ways. We don't want to create a war with Conservative Christians, we want to empower them with truth. And it's true that, part of the goal of the website is to make them consider voting Democrat.
In this website you will find my wisdom on issues ranging from Abortion, Wealth and Taxes, the Environment, what the country meant by “In God We Trust”, and the existential hypocrisy of Holy War. Take the idea of Holy War for example. Since the days of the Crusades, there are some Christians, Jews, and Muslims that believe that God wants them to kill others to become the dominant force through “Holy War”. Moses, who wrote the 10 Commandments, is the most important prophet in Judaism, and also an important prophet of Christianity, Islam, the Bahai Faith, Latter Day Saints and Rastafari. In the 10 Commandments, Moses states that we must not kill. Moses doesn't state that it would be “ok” if you were doing it for your country or your religion. He states that you must not do it, period. Therefore, there is no such thing as a “Holy War”, for in fact war is by definition unholy, defined by the prophet Moses, who is a part of the world's most eminent religions. God wants us to unite, independent of religion, race, creed, sect, and location. Jesus said to love your neighbor as you love yourself, and that we must even love our enemies. That doesn't mean that you have to let others hurt you, because he also states in Proverbs 4:23 “Above everything else, guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life”. What it means, is that we must use our energies in finding peaceful solutions to our disputes. In the political sphere, Democrats as a whole are generally more against the idea of war than Republicans. They are pushing for finding an end to the Iraq War, rather than prolonging it 100 years, and solving problems through diplomatic dialog rather than military conflict. Republicans like John McCain are against even talking to the leaders of our “enemies” because they think it gives them legitimacy. For them, the only solution is a military solution, even if it means going nuclear. To use his own words against him, John McCain “doesn't understand” that nobody wins a nuclear conflict, because both nations are completely destroyed. What we should be aiming for is working out the problems and avoiding something that doesn't need to happen. Democratic Leader Barack Obama is open to talking with leaders of foreign nations about the problems our nations face, and working out a peaceful solution. He says the notion of thinking we are punishing our enemies by not talking to them is ridiculous. Anyway, how is a problem solved by not fighting? By working it out and talking about it. In the big picture, Democrats are usually more against war than Republicans. Jesus is against war. Therefore, I would think that Jesus would vote Democrat. |
